SKILL 3: Effective Prompt Writing
Purpose: To gain maximum benefit from AI ChatGPT, you will first want to learn to communicate more effectively when speaking with it. The more powerful your ‘prompts’ are, the more powerful your responses will be.
A ‘prompt’ is simply a statement or question shared with AI letting it know what you are asking of it. Writing prompts is arguably the single most important skill related to working with AI. See below for examples.
Example prompt (same request, three levels):
- Beginner: “How can I best interact with you?”
- Intermediate: “How should I speak to you in a prompt for best results?”
- Advanced: “I want to get fantastic results whenever I communicate with you. What is the best way of doing so? Is there an ideal way to write a prompt? Should I go into a lot of detail like I am doing now? Are there things I should avoid? How could I improve upon this prompt for example?
How to apply this SKILL to COACHING:
You will use prompts for everything, from journaling and self-reflection, to doing your assignments, uncovering deeper insights, doing research, creating your vision maps, and completing assignments.
How to apply this SKILL to LIFE:
You will use prompts for everything, from writing more effective emails, making better decisions, and planning your vacations, to planting a better garden, buying a car, and designing your home.
